  • Top your own Pizza Night

Sunday

  • Pork chops with sautéed apples  (recipe here)
  • steamed veggies (broccoli, carrots, squash, peppers)

So that’s it for us this week.  Amount spent at the grocery – $149 but I still have to pick up some chops, salad mix later in the week, and a few things they were out of at the store so I am guessing this week was about $175 on groceries. Which sounds high, but lately we’ve been spending between $200/$240 so I’lll take $175.

How about it, what are you cooking up this week?

  1. All of that looks really delicious and pretty healthy, too! Not much was on sale, so this week we are having pantry essentials like spaghetti and meatloaf. (Ground beef is cheap here) Lately we have also been making this curry roasted cauliflower + onion + chickpea thing served on rice and it is really good. For breakast and lunch, I almost always have a smoothie and Kraft Dinner, hehe.

    1. Ground beef was only like $0.20 cheaper per pound than turkey this week, so I figured healthy was worth .40! haha! Of course both the kids gagged at the thought of it, but that will last my lunch for 2 weeks, I think. Since the kids wont be eating them. -> If they freeze well. Ive never made those turkey meatloafs before so we'll see.

We did "Pantry Week" a few weeks ago, and then the next week loaded up on bull crap. My freezer and pantry are so stuffed. I need to do that again, to get some of this stuff out of here. A lot of it was bought for the person who no longer lives here, so its just takin' up space. :(

send me your roasted cauliflower recipe! That sounds YUMMO!
